We did not like the original curtains in Banjo. They were too thin to block the strong sun we get here in North Carolina and also were untidy when we were under way. So we had a local canvas maker make us new interior shades that snap on each window. We also had interior shades made for the windows at the bow so we would not have to climb outside to put the shades on and off. The shades are made of Sunbrella and have a lining. They look great and do an excellent job of blocking the light.

The first picture shows the bow shades (all other windows have the same shades) and the second picture is a close up of the snaps that fasten to the window.

What was the cost?

I'm not fussed about having interior covers for the windshield glass but the side window covers look awesome. I would also like to have some idea of what the cost for the side and rear window(s) + cabin door might run to ?

What did you do for the window in the head room/locker ?

The cost for all the windows was around $700. We did not do the door since the boat came with a door cover that attaches with velcro that does a pretty good job of blocking the sun. We did the same covering in the head (we do not use the shower there very much). If some used the shower in the head a lot, you could probably use some sort of vinyl that would be more waterproof.

Jim- our R29 will be based in Southport as well. Who did the shades for you?

Dave

Dave, Jamie Daniel did our canvas. I think he is located in Bolivia, right outside of Southport, NC. Our marina recommended him and we think he did a great job. Send me an email and I will give you his number. He stays very busy but you could get on his list.

Great to have another Ranger Tug in Southport. That will make 4 of us that I know of. What marina will you be located at?
We are at St James, great marina. There is also a 29 Ranger Tug at our marina.
