Hello everyone!
As a new owner I probably have some dumb questions to ask, but if not here… where. Would I ask!
Here goes…
1- How long can you run a 12 volt fridge off the house battery?
A tag to this question… I have an EcoFlow Delta generator that has a solar panel to recharge it… do any of you use something similar and how do you like it?
2- what type of batteries are in our boats? I have 3 but as a newbie know very little about them.
3- I’ve got a Volvo D3 150 in my boat. Any others that can chime in to their experience with this engine.
4- any clever ideas for a cockpit covering for a 25SC anyone could share.
That’s it for now… I’m sure I’ll have more as time marches on.

This As The Prop Turns factory video on power management would be a good place to start. It's one of a series of helpful and well produced training videos.

Paul,

We have a 2014 25SC with the Volvo D3 150.

We take the boat everywhere. And usually are loaded heavy for extended cruises. We typically cruise around 7 to 7.5 knots and get around 4 mpg. We just arrived yesterday in Key West crossing 100 miles of Gulf from Goodland at 9 mph and used about 35 - 40 gallons but we had a bit of a following sea to help us along. I think the engine is a good one and has strong torque in the lower RPM band that helps especially when in current like when we cruise the upper Mississippi River.

We have 4 batteries, group 27 M. One for starting the engine, one for the thrusters and 2 house batteries. They are AGM style. Many people are swapping their batteries out to Lithium and receiving excellent results in both power and weight reduction. We currently just had our solar panel threw a fault code I need to fix. U 1.36 , still trying to find out what that means. However with our house batteries and the solar panel, our fridge can run indefinitely if it is sunny. On the trailer with no working solar panel, we might see two days of operation before I need to put a charge on the batteries.

Other than that, we use a 4 inch high Davit system for our dingy to ride on the edge of our swim platform (90 degree) and have two 45 quart Rtic coolers with cushions as seats for the aft. This holds cold drinking water, beer, food whatever and is a nice place to sit as well. We have a gas grill on the outer rail, a small outboard for the dingy hanging off a rail and We have an out door rug that is the same size as the engine hatch back their as well. Not exactly clever cockpit ideas but work well for us.

Not sure how to post pictures, if you send me your email I can send you pictures if you want.

Bob.

I have a 2015 R25sc and have added a lot of things. Check out my photo album for details - look for Nellie May. We did the Loop in 2018 and 19 and the additions proved to be very beneficial. Note that there are also photos of my 2005 R21 Classic.

I hope you enjoy you boat. They are great vessels, and very capable.

Related to cockpit covering.
We are expecting our new bimini for our 2012 R25SC this week. King Marine Canvas is the supplier of canvas for Ranger Tugs. They have templates for all the models. Reasonable priced compared to having a canvas shop custom fit a bimini. It will likely take three months to have it made. From my understanding the bimini is the same on all model years of the R25SC.

We had King Marine make us a replacement bimini for our 2011 R27 Classic. Very happy with the result and the price! Took about 10 weeks from order to delivery (they shipped it to Anacortes w/o charge).
