Hi all, just signed the Bill of Sale and will be taking possession of the boat(2010 R25 SC) over the weekend. I am very thankful that the previous owner diligently took care of her and it is definitely my intent to carry on with a similar level of maintenance.

On that note, based on current circumstances (COVID 19), what type of cruising are West Coast Canucks doing this summer?

See you on the water

Lucky you! We think that is the perfect size; too big for our lot so we remain committed to our 21 footer. It doesn't seem like the year to wander to small remote places on our coast. Thinking of taking advantage of the quieter traffic and making local trips. We just got back from Montague on Galliano Island. There were only 8 boats in the harbour. Serene and quiet. Poked around Prevost too.

Thinking on Jedediah, Texada, Lasqueti Islands in July. We hear Canadian boaters talk about this being the time to go to Desolation, as it might be more desolate without our southern neighbours - but memories of crowds prevail. Maybe head to the Broughtons August / September, depending on how the virus situation unfolds.

You will be really comfortable on your new-to-you Ranger!

Congratulations on the new purchase! I’d rather be on your side of the boarder this year! Much, much more to do and see up there than on our side! Hopefully we can cross the border in late August or September.

Congratulations on your purchase! We have a 25-SC and love it, it is an amazingly well laid out, capable, boat.

Thanks all for the great comments.

Being an active navy guy, we took it from its previous owner's mooring in Sidney to CFSA Esquimalt today.

Until you take it in 4-5 feet swells, you really don't know how she'll handle. I have nothing but great things to say about her. It was great until we exited Enterprise Channel and headed for Esquimalt, JDF Strait with 15-20 kts SW winds. I was truly impressed how well she rode the waves and kept a steady heading.

Unfortunately, CAF members cannot travel North of Nanaimo or to Vancouver at the moment, so we will have to cruise locally and get a feel for her and get some solid berthing/slipping practices in all conditions.

Hopeful to see you guys on the water.

You have enough great boating locations close by to keep you busy for a long time. Sydney, Pender Islands, and Salt Spring Island are some of my favorites. Hopefully the border will open soon and I can cross over.

The brass must be worried you guys will get into a shooting war with the Free Comox insurgents, or maybe the Lasqueti Pirates... 😉
