It's official, we have now taken ownership of Indian Summer. She is now moored in Salem, MA. I was hoping to better acquaint myself with her this weekend and play around in Salem Sound and spend a night or two aboard. However, this weekend's weather seems more like the Pacific Northwest than New England. It's been maybe 50 degrees and raining the past few days, with wind upwards of 15-20 knots. We'll just have to be patient, I guess. We're so looking forward to getting out on the water this year and for many years to come.

Tom, Indian Summer's previous owner, has been incredibly gracious, generous, and patient with us as we've worked to figure out a way to make our dreams happen. I know he is eagerly waiting for his new R31 to be delivered soon, and wish him all the very best with his new tug.

I hope everyone enjoys the Memorial Day weekend!

Welcome! I am sure hot weather is coming soon.
Great boat name, by the way. Will you keep the name or change it? At first we thought of changing our boat name (since neither of us play the banjo but now we have gotten so many compliments on the name (and the boat) we decided to keep the name.
Get ready for your boat to be the subject of much discussion and compliments. Everybody asks to come aboard. But we do get tired of the boat being called "cute" and "adorable". Maybe we need to change the boats name to "Dueling Banjos" so we will look tougher and less adorable!

Congratulations Doug. Seemed like this process took a long time, but the boat is finally yours. I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we have.

For our tugnut friends, Doug is an experienced deep water sailor and has crewed on tall ships. He will be a great addition to the tugnut community. My new boat, Indian Summer II is an R31 sedan that is due to ship from the factory tomorrow. I haven't seen many photos of the sedan version of the R31, so I'll try to get some posted In a couple weeks when we take delivery in Salem.
