Thought I would wait two years, but just could'nt wait.... Always been crazy about boating going back to my first canoe as a kid. Just bought our 2003, R21 Classic and am as enthused as the day I brought home that canoe. Will fly out to SEA/TAC week of Thanksgiving with my daughter, pick up our trailer in Kent, WA and headed to Discovery Bay, CA to pick up the newly named, Georgia Midnight Cruise. Then, azimuth plotted for home port of Alpharetta, GA. Personal goal is to put as many hours as I can until the heirs get her. Starting at 236 hrs! Hoping for plenty of oil changes between now and then. Looking forward to wetting her in my sanctuaries. Lake Lanier, GA, South Halston Lake, VA, Apalachicola, FL, Jacksonville, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale and yes.....Bimini and West End Bahamas. Used to go over as a kid in the 70's with a compass and a 21' center console. Not manifestly unsound, but soundly manifested. Rangers, lead the way!

Congratulations, and welcome! Your ports sound wonderful, and you are going to be having great times ahead 😀

Thanksgiving season means short days, and can be wet and foggy, so factor that into your driving time while traveling in the NW.You and your daughter will have lots of time to plan great trips aboard your new boat as you bring her back to Georgia :!:

Thanks for the scoop BaseCampAnne. We have plenty of time alotted, and thankfully, Marriott points so we can crash when needed and wherever there is a major crossroad. Looking forward to the drive from Seattle to CA. Fortunatly this leg will be trailer without boat. It looks stunningly beautiful.

Welcome aboard!! Enjoy your new boat. There is lots of help here if you need it and we all like to hear your adventures
Sounds like you are going to really enjoy your new Ranger.. I bought used too and I have to tell you the support from the factory is amazing .
Enjoy 🙂

Welcome to the Tug family!

I live in Woodstock, not far from Crabapple, and we have Blue Merle, our R-27 docked on Allatoona near to Endeavour, an R-29.

We should all do a group photo one day when you get back.

GA-Midnight Cruise: A BIG welcome to you and your R-21. You've certainly come to the right place for all your Tugnut enquiries and help. We lived in Atlanta (Sandy Springs) for 4 years and spent several of our summers at and around Lake Lanier... mind you, at times the flying bugs had to be beaten off as well... so hopefully you have the enclosed cockpit canvas/netting etc😉

Enjoy... 🙂

Congratulations and welcome! We also have an R21Classic, "Nellie May." I just know that you will love yours as much as we love ours. They are truly wonderful little boats....get ready for the endless (but fun) comments....Cute Boat, Neat Boat, Cool Boat, etc, etc.

Congratulations and welcome to the Ranger Tug family. Perhaps we will see you at the Southeast Rendezvous. It is at the Palm Island Marina at Cape Haze FL from February 1 thru February 4th. I posted a link about it a week agao. If you can't find it feel free to PM me.

Welcome aboard! We also have a R-21 Classic, TuggerToy. We bought her in Florida and trailered her back to Pennsylvania. Be prepared for people to start to pass you on the interstate and then drive next to the trailer for awhile admiring the tug. Folks will stop you at rest stops, truckers will ask about her on the cb radio, pass you and give you the thumbs up. Oh and then the attention at the boat ramp . . . . We love our tug - it was one of the happiest days of my life when we brought her home!!! I hope you have many years of enjoyment with her!!

Okay, we are with Tug!!! My daughter and I arrived into Sea/Tac Saturday AM. Secured our tow vehicle and headed to Ranger Tugs in Kent to pick up our new EZ Loader trailer. Like clockwork, the Ranger associate opened the gate in the driving rain, hooked her up, safety check, verified ser no. and we were headed south to Discovery Bay, CA to pick up our Georgia Midnight Cruise. What a beautiful part of the country! Bedded down on the OR/CA border. Us easterners were in awe the entire way down the coast. Mt. Shasta stopped us right in our tracks. A magnificent work of our creator. Proceeded south to Discover Bay for our first cruise on our R21 Classic. Took her for a brief run on the sluices (I love how the 30 horses of that Yanmar sounds!) and landed her on the bunks of her new trailer. Lowered the mast, top and rigging. Secured all and hit the road. She trailers like a dream and does not flinch when the big rigs pass. I had thought about retro fitting a trailer and I am glad I got an EZ loader configured by Ranger Tugs for this exact boat. She fits like a glove and rides like a dream. The seller even commented how impressive the trailer was. We bedded down in Bakersfield last night. I got up early this morning and could not wait to see her. Like a Grandpa and a new born. Had coffee in the parking lot of the Marriot on my tug! What a site that must have been. Also, if you ever wondered, a tug crossing the Mojave Desert will garner attention. It was a beautiful 77 degress and slow going thru the mountains. Decided to bed down this evening in Flagstaff and a quick peak at the Grand Canyon tomorrow AM before hitting the road. A check of the weather has us at 22 degrees tonight so a brief walk to Walmart across the street from the hotel, has us with a gallon of marine anti-freeze. The anti-freeze plug was right were Mark at Wefings in Apalachicola, FL told me it would be. This has us in good shape for a cold night. OKC tomorrow and hopefully Atlanta by late Wed hopefully.

Sounds like a fun trip so far! Lots more in your future 🙂

Hey Alpharetta, I hope to soon have my own 25 in the panhandle of Florida. We may need to work on a SE rendezvous that isn't in south Florida. We both know south Florida isn't the south.

We do a pretty cool owners weekend in Apalachicola . We are definitely in the South!
Usually 3rd weekend in October . No reason we couldnt do another spring or summer event..........
Marc
