Hello Friends!
We are happy to be owned by the R25SC "Then Again" now in construction. We are looking forward to an August launch and hope to arrive in Anacortes by water for the Rendezvous.
Peace,
Lenny and Louise Anderson

Good for you and WELCOME. The Anacortes meeting is our annual meeting of TugNuts & Cutwaters. I've been to three of them now and they are great fun and very informative with various vendors present including the Ranger Tug & Cutwater sales/factory reps present. It's a time to meet everyone and see them and their boats in person. The Anacortes is a new marina for this meeting and is kind of a midway point for USA and Canadians to gather at. You will definately benefit from the Anacortes gathering... 🙂

Lenny and Louise, congraulationst! We, too, have a new Ranger Tug now in production. Ours is a 27, and given that the 25s and 27s are both built at the Kent factory, our boats may be going through production side by side.

Why an August launch for yours? We went into production aaround 4/19, and will launch before the end of this month. August seems a bit far away . . .

Whatever the reason, you no doubt are excited as we are! We can't make the rendezvous, at least this year, but perhaps our litter-mate boats will meet up one of these days soon. Fair seas to you!

Gini & Colleen

Congratulations
Lenny and Louise, Our R27 is due for completion 10 May then sea trials until 21 May then it gets all wrapped up (gift wrapped) hehehehe loaded onto a ship then approx 6 week voyage to here in WA ( Western Australia)
Un wrapped here then electronics and other toys added more sea trials then ours to have Fun 😀 We Also believe that Gini and Colleen's is being built along side of ours (sisters) 😉

Cheers
peter & Ronie B

Peter and Ronnie, sister ships indeed! We are hoping to drive to the factory on Monday to see ours before the deck gets dropped onto the hull. What color is yours? By then, it will probably be out of the covered shop and into the yard for the final bits. We will look for it and give it a pat for you!!

Gini & Colleen

Good to meet you folks on this machine. It will be even better when we can shake each other's hand. "Then Again" is being delivered some place near Kent in August because it is a retirement gift to ourselves and that fits our plans to relocate to the Pacific Northwest. We expect to do most of sailing in the Columbia River.

Peace,
Lenny and Louise

Lenny and Louise, if you will be on the Columbia river, we will be potential neighbors. Our boat will be moored in Portland, Oregon (we live south of Portland about 50 miles). Don't know if that's the area of the Columbia you plan to be on, or if you will be east or west of that. But perhaps our paths (wakes?) will cross!

Hi Gini and Coleen,
Great news getting to see your tug before its all assembled 😀 Thanks for offering to give our Hero Red ( Blu Tug) a nice pat that would be much appreciated 🙂
Cheers

Peter and Ronnie, if we see Blu Tug, we'll take a photo and post or send it!

Congrats to all of you who are waiting for your new tug! You will LOVE it!!! We are back in the Pacific Northwest to get back on our R29 after a long stay to help aging parents in California. Can't wait to meet y'all. We will do Desolation Sound for the first time this summer.

After waiting a few months, I'm pleased to say that the Amalia Grace (Ranger 25sc) was delivered to North Vancouver last weekend. The good folks in Port Alberni were kind enough to put the name on her before trucking her over. Spent the weekend getting to learn the boat and am now trying to get through the piles of manuals LOL.

I hope to see some of you out on the water soon.

Welcome aboard Amalia Grace. Please don't be shy about asking questions as you're getting used to your new vessel, we're a pretty helpful group.

Well we are getting more excited about our beautiful Hero Red R27 "Blu Tug" we believe she will be loaded onto " Coral Bay" at Tacoma today 😀 then in approx. six weeks she should be here for us to see 🙂 then off loaded from the ship and transported to the local yacht club to have electronics, etc fitted and training on the new Volvo Penta motor as well as having our agent Craig spend as much time as needed for us to learn about her 😀 .
More updates as they happen 😉

Cheers

Sweet! I can see all the freight traffic crossing Elliott Bay on the way to Tacoma. Right now, the Coral Bay is coming in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, just west of Port Townsend. It should be dark when she approaches Colvos Passage. I'll check on her in the morning and see if I can get a photo as she heads back to the Pacific.

Cheers

Coral Bay... I assume your R-27 is inside one of these containers...

Thanks Bruce and Baz,
We believe that she will be shipped in a frame with wheels as a roll on off deck cargo as they cant fit her in a container 😀
Do you have the details of the ship tracking web site be nice to keep track of the progress 🙂 ?
Once again Tugnuts have been so VERY helpful 😀 😀 😀 😀
Cheers

This link should give the the Coral Bay's record. Various links on the page will give her location on a chart. She's currently at the dock in Tacoma.

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce that's what we were looking for we spent many hours on google trying to find a site but no luck 🙁 So many thanks 😀 😀 Coral Bay just left Tacoma 🙂
Cheers

Peter/Ronie: Do you have any kind of shipping information given to you for your R-27 shipment such as Hull #, Booking number, Bill of Laden number and Cargo ID. If so you might get more detail by going to the shipping companies web site and track things from there.

I had a Volvo shipped from Sweden and I was able to track it all the way from Goteberg, Panama Canal and LA and on up to Seattle via SWIFT truck. Here's the web site I used https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/ocean.do?method=getDefaultOceanQuickSearchPage for my shipping company. In my case all I had to do was plug in my Volvo's VIN number and all was revealed to me.

Just a thought if you have the time to monitor things. It will remove some of the anxiousness knowing where your lovel R-27 is at any moment on its ay to Perth.

As an aside, I'm curious about Australian Customs/Duty/Excise taxes etc. Do you have to pay any kind of import duty fees, Sales or Use taxes, or are these type of taxes/fees waived or non-existent ? If your R-27 is considered 'used' maybe the fees would be lower. When I shipped my Volvo from Sweden I claimed it as a used auto with the Import Customs as I had driven it some 1,500 miles in Sweden and Norway before it was shipped to me. In the USA we have to pay a Sales tax based on the retail price and each State imposes a different rate based on where you live or based on where the boat was manufactured. In my State I paid some 9.5% of the sales price charged by Ranger Tugs. I ask these questions as I have family in Perth and who knows, one day they might consider buying a Ranger Tug.

Thanks Baz,
We don't have any information on our Tug just a run date schedule from our Australian agent.
As for the customs, duty, fees, etc they are included in the price of getting "Blu Tug " delivered to us here 😀
Well if your family are interested we would be willing to show them "Blu Tug" 🙂
We will take a look at the web site thanks 🙂
Cheers
