Spent the afternoon running , testing and checking out the evolution of the 2009-2011 R 29 . The boat is really come into its own with refinements in a number of areas . The entertainment options are versatile with a multi zone Fusion audio system and not one , but 2 flat screens . I was able to get the local PBS stations over the air , and with good clarity . We are just off to the side of the middle of nowhere [reception wise] and I had four good stations , I was amazed .
The cooking options [propane stove and oven] and the addition of the inverter makes it so the only time you need to run the Gen is for air conditioning or fast battery charge away from the dock at anchor . Loads like coffee makers, microwave, tools ,and hair dryers can run from the 2500 watt inverter . That's a plus for the hotter climates with mild winters like ours .
Lighting has improved with the addition of LEDs on the interior fixtures that provide a soft efficient light and help identify the lights for when you want to turn the full incandescent on .
We ordered the AGM Battery upgrade for this show boat . Its a maintenance free type battery and they seem to have great life and are well suited for this type of application .
The new electrical panels are very nice and laid out and labeled well .

There is more new product to see with the new R 27 and a state of the art R 21. That boat is really refined and a good fit for many folks that want to easily trailer their fully equipped Ranger Tug.

Once again if anyone wants tickets to the Tampa Show 9/10-9/12 please PM or E mail me and we will look forward to seeing you there.

That sounds really nice, Marc. I recall when we were looking at C-Dorys 5-6 years ago and many called the boat a "boater home." Truly, not even close to the convenience and amenities most RVs have; it sounds like the Ranger 29 provides the comforts that most of us have come to expect ... and those amenities make it easier to spend extended time aboard.

Good luck with the boat show (and finding a new home for those good looking tugs).

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Marc,

Good luck at the boat show! Sell some Ranger tugs. 😀 Peggy and I will probably be at the British car and motorcycle show on Saturday. But, I'm sure I'll get on the water a couple of times this week (I try to avoid the weekends, crazy boat drivers  ).

Thanks Gene !Will you be sporting your tinkering suit ? [ a little British car humour] . I know we will be a big attention getter and the display will be really cool with a midnight blue R 29 , an ice blue R 27 and a lauren green r 21 , all 2011 boats . Be driving them down tomorrow and zipping the 6 hours home to pick up Anita and back to Tampa . Have had a good response to the ticket offer and looking forward to a good show . If anyone wants to attend, let me know ....... marc@wefings.com

Owned numerous British sports cars and several of their motorcycles. The routine was "work on them for two hours; drive/ride them for an hour: repeat". Have to admit, they were designed to be worked on. Not something to buy, use and forget.

Best British product I ever bought was a manual Shure tone arm (for a Thorens turntable). Several years later saw an identical Shure in a museum in London, a work of art.

How's this for being off topic?

Gene

My dad [not to make you feel old ] used nothing but Thorens turntables and Shure tonearms and cartridges in his "hi Fi Stereo" A Diamond cartridge, of course .
I hated Opera when I was a kid . I got to hear alot of with accurate reproduction .

Back to topic , we got the big boats [29 and 27] in the slips today [lots of driving , Im home for a few hours]and they are awaiting the R 21 that's getting a custom fitted new trailer . Show is Fri PM thru Sun.
