To: All,

Kathy and I were at the factory today to see the progress on our new R-29, Salish Rover, and she looks great !! She goes on her sea trial next week and we take delivery on the 29 of this month. Needless to say, we are pretty excited.

I can't tell you what a great job Howard and the crew do, you have to go see it for yourself. He showed us each step in the manufacturing process in detail. It's an amazing operation with great care taken at every point. There is no question at all about how or why Ranger Tugs are of such high quality, it boils down to great people who have a tremendous amount of pride in what they do. It's nice to be part of this organization.

We are assembling a gallery of photos that we will post soon.

Ladybug Too is a 2009 R-29 that followed me home from a boat show in Orange Beach, Alabama. My wife knew that Ladybug Too loved us so she let me keep her (the boat). Factory support is great so if you run into some little thing that you need to address, give them a call and they can walk you through minor issues. If you are mechanically inclined it is a great way to save evryone time and effort. My little issue took me all of an hour to fix. Other owners are quick to help too. I had not seen the spare parts list that is posted on this site until another owner, Stuart, gave me the heads up. Sure enough, the list covers most items you will need for routine maintenance. It is a great hull and we have tested her in 2 to 3 ft. mixed seas. We were trying to bottom fish when things roughed up. We powered up and made it home from 9 miles out in the Gulf off Pensacola, Florida, high and dry. It only took two cold beers! Enjoy your new Ranger. You are going to love it. Pat, Ladybug Too.

To show how greatful we are, every time we go to the factory, either Kent or Monroe, we take donuts. Once a year we try to sponsor a BBQ for the employees. These guys truly deserve it.

Let us know when you're doing your sea trial as we live only about 15 minutes from Everett Boat Launch. I like the name of your boat - Salish Rover - for exploring the Salish Sea!

Thanks, naming a boat seems to take as much thought as naming your children. Howard is taking her out on Tuesday morning for her first run. We aren't sure what time yet. Then bottom paint and then back to the factory for final installations and detail. Delivery at the end of the month if all goes as planned.

I'm quite sure that donuts will flood the factory over the next couple of weeks.

Kathy will be posting photos soon.
