Greetings all,

I'm Mark and today my wife Cheryl and I purchased a 2016 Ranger 21EC. We feel like new proud parents. Her name is Scout and she is the Claret Red color.

The boat was originally purchased at the 2016 Seattle Boat Show and only has 12 total hours on it. The original VP engine was included in the emissions recall and was replaced and the new engine has less than 4 hours on it.

We're very excited to have such a beautiful boat. We live in Stanwood WA and look forward to exploring the San Juan Islands and Puget Sound. I retired last year and Cheryl has a few more years of work after which we plan do do a lot more boating.

We looked at several used 25 Classics and even considered a new 23 but in the end we were both very smitten by this little boat and its immense amount of character. For now it will do everything we wanted and will keep a smile on our faces to boot.

I'm sure we'll have all sorts of questions for all of you seasoned Tugnuts so please be patient with us. 🙂

We both look forward to learning and in time being able to contribute to this group.

Cheers,
Mark & Cheryl

Congrats on your new boat. I have a 2014 of the same model and colour. You will love your little tug. I have found this forum to be an excellent source of info with wonderful folks who are always to share their knowledge.

Congratulations! We are 2014 Ranger R21EC owners and live on Camano Island. Nice to see neighbors with such good taste in boats.

We keep our tug “Ruby” at LaConner Marina in summer and at Twin Bridges in winter.

Again, congrats.

Thanks for the kind words Newf and Ham. We're really excited about her and nice to know we have a kindred boat so close to us.

Cheers,
Mark

Welcome from Toronto! We are coming to the end of our first season with a 21EC, and have had boatloads of fun (literally). There are a number of pics in my album and posts with my own newbie thoughts, questions and observations.

Congratulations. My wife and I purchased a C28 in June. We live in Stanwood as well. We keep Epiphany at LaConner Marina. Hopefully, we will see you on the water.

The R-21EC is an awesome boat. We had ours for around 18 months and it was a joy to own it and used it very frequently. I even allowed my grandchildren to captain the boat at times and they will have that memory for ever. We had it up in the San Juan islands a few times without issues. It's a tough little boat and will serve you well in many sea conditions.... just be sure to point it into the oncoming seas and it will behave nicely and wash your cockpit out nicely and clean. The 30 HP engine was a delight with its very easy access and low maintenance. I really loved its happy sound chugging away.

Enjoy as I'm sure you will.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments and support. I took it out yesterday afternoon for about 90 minutes around Kingston and had a wonderful time. My son in law joined me and we both agreed there is something about the boat that just keeps a smile on your face. Nice, easy, slow going journey without any stress whatsoever. I can see already we're going to love this little boat.

Cheers,
Mark

All loose items will go flying when you are rolled by a beam wave. Sailors are used to that drill. If the door is not latched open it becomes a guillotine.
