Nice covers! Our R-29 is a 2009 probably the 6th hull but we do not have the same DC panel that you have. Do you have DC and AC on the bulkhead going to the Cave. Ours are not kid friendly and nieces and nephews have found a number of ways to "bump" into them. Have you seen a clear cover that might be hinged to protect the panels or is your layout a bit different.

The switches I put the new covers on are at the helm not at the lower birth entrance, however, I a thinking about using them on the four switches located there. The problem you are having with the other switches I also have. I was thinking about building a wood frame around then and putting a clear plastic cover over them hinged on one side with a magnetic closure on the other.
