A few weeks ago I posted a note here that I wanted to find a used R21EC for a reasonable price. I received a PM from a member here ( I will leave him unidentified since I did not ask his permission to name him) With an offer of a 2008 boat. He said he was just starting to think of selling and had not done any clean up to prep for a sale, so in an 'as is' condition he would take $26k, with no trailer. A small problem was he is in FL and I am in Maine.
Since driving never holds me back I bought the boat. I bought a new aluminum dual axle trailer from Trailer Depot in Sarasotoa for $3600 will all fees and taxes. They were great to deal with, from just a telephone order they had the trailer ready as promised. I was able to haul the boat and bring it to their shop where they made all the adjustments and had me on the road in under 3 hours. I would definitely recommend them.
I left FL on Friday, hit an awful traffic jam on I75, but have now made it to NY, I should be home tomorrow afternoon. I am very excited to get to work cleaning and polishing- the boat needs a LOT of it.
I sold my 2001 R21 classic for $18k, with a trailer after an ad on Craigslist. I had several callers and a couple lookers and a deal in just a few days. If I read the HIN correctly the boat is serial number 3 of the R21 family. Is this possible? It has lots of teak trim, a great boat, but I want the accommodation of the EC.
If all goes well I will be doing some short cruising in mid coast Maine this summer.
