Hello everyone. My name is Alan Townsley and I am the new owner of a 2010 Ranger 29S. The boat is currently in North Carolina and I will be brining it to NYC in the next few weeks.

I'm a long time sailor with health issues so I'm selling my C&C 34/36+ 'Savage' after owning her over 23 years. Bitter sweet but I'm looking forward to new adventures.

I'm retired and an ex software guy but was a sail maker for ten years too. I've been a very serious racer since childhood but can't afford that game any more. I used to do car rallying too and competed in the Targa Newfound Rally three times.

Looking forward to making new online friends and maybe even meeting some of you on my future travels.

Alan

Alan, I had a C&C 30, Ericsson 38 and a Dehler 36 sailboats, and raced all of them and many other boats before heading for the dark side like you. Good luck with your Ranger Tug. IMHO being on the water is so much better than being off it, in whatever craft suits you at the moment.

Well said! Totally agree!!

Alan, I’m sure you will enjoy your new tug. I have done some sailing but not nearly as serious as you guys. Still, I have met quite a few Ranger Tug/Cutwater owners who have converted over to the “dark side” and are still thoroughly enjoying their time on the water. The experience is not better or worse—just a different way of having a great life on the water.

Welcome aboard! I once was a Beneteau First sailor, so I understand.
