Hello - My wife and I are planning a loop trip and have just about landed on a Ranger Tug 25 or 27 (used, diesel) but still considering the cutwater. We plan to do the loop over about a 3 year period but would also like to be able to island hop in the Bahamas - we owned a 26 foot Mako center console in from 2008 - 2016 and spent a good bit of time in the Bahamas from Stuart and would love to be able to do so again. How does the Ranger Tug handle the gulf stream? The cutwater looks like it'd be a little rough in 2-3s?
We are definitely going with a trailer boat - we have owned boats that lived in the water and I won't do it again LOL - in my experience no boat is meant to get wet or be exposed to sunshine and even outside air - they are all delicate, fragile critters but keeping one wet all the time is, again in my experience, far too much in every way imaginable. Given the dimensions of both models they seem like they'd trailer good - is this the case? I have a GMC 3500 so we have the towing capacity just curious about how they travel. Our plan for the loop is to do it in segments and bring the boat back to Georgia and probably south Florida when not on the loop.
