Scratching my head over this arrangement. My genset has a 2 micron filter (plastic bowl) followed by a 10 micron filter (metal bowl). Did someone get things reversed in the original install?

Seems to me that you want to catch everything in the first 2 micron Filter, and the 10 micron is just in case. I used a 2 micron fuel water on my sail boat and a 10 on the final to the engine. Only changed the Fuel Water Seperator and only once the final filter in 27 years and it looked very clean.

My C28 is configured the same way as yours. 2micron to 10 micron seems to make sense (belt & suspenders).

Normally I'd think that you want to go from coarse to fine filtration but like you said, maybe the 10 is a "just in case."
