Good Afternoon:

I just completed periodic maintenance on the generator which included changing the impeller.

I would appreciate any insight on the following issues:

1. When I first attempt to start the generator, it will not start until I manually move the arm attached to the run solenoid.

2. There are three drilled holes on the body of the impeller raw water pump that drip raw water when the generator is on. I don't remember ever seeing this.

3. The water pump drive belt is slightly over the edge of the top pulley despite me tightening the tension. I don't see any way to adjust so that the belt runs in the center of the pulley.

Thanks much!

Mike

I wanted to folllow-up on resolution of the issues described below in case others experience them:

1. Refer to the Next Gen UCM1-3.5 Owners Manual page 33 at the bottom under "Run solenoid not pulling in". I found that the linkage was binding so I exercised it several times and added a small dab of dielectric grease which solved the problem.

2. I researched the holes and found that they are there to allow air to bleed from the impeller in order to prime the cooling system. There was no water on the second start after changing the impeller.

3. When I adjusted the water pump drive belt, I did not ensure that the two pump hold down bolts were equal in location; one was slighly less than the other. After correcting, there was no further issue.
