Night Time Cruising

I added (3) LED lights to the mast, a 10" combo plus (2) 3" floods to either side for docking... in 3+ seasons I have yet to travel at night. And yes, it is illegal to be underway at night using "headlights".

Having said that, I have watched a number of hunting/open field YouTube videos discussing night vision versus thermal cameras. Under ideal conditions, night vision seems like a good target acquisition system... add IR, and it's better.

However, mother nature doesn’t always give us ideal conditions... hence, for my money, I'm choosing a handheld thermal imaging camera. I will choose the highest resolution I can afford for better target definition. Thermal will work with no light, in the rain and in the fog.

Just my 2 cents...

Where are you boating that “headlights” on a boat are legal? That’s crazy talk in the US.
