anyone have night time photos of the interior of a 21ec? I haven't come across any in my search. I was wondering how effective the cabin lights are for chillin' before bed...how it looks from the dock (privacy) and how it looks inside (reading/functionality)...

Don't have a pic, but I thought you'd be interested to know that there are two sets of lights in the cabin... standard clear lights alternating with a a couple of red lights which are wonderful for night time navigation. The clear lights are quite bright, so I installed a small solar powered LED over the v berth for nighttime reading as well. Don't know if this helps.

thanks, i have seen in the specs that there are cabin lights and red av nlights(which are easier on the eyes for navigating at night) i was thinking the same thing...install a littler LED adjustable light for reading, bed prep...

Dont have photos, but from experience I can say that interior lighting on the newer models is great. In addition to the white/red overhead lights, there is one overhead light in the v-berth area, great for reading yourself to sleep. Even have 2 cockpit courtesy lights fwd of the engine box. All nice touches.

Don't forget that in addition to the overhead cabin lights, there is a battery-powered light mounted on the left side of the V berth just as you enter it. I think it's designed as a reading light for the person sleeping on that side of the berth.

I've only had my R-21 EC since June (80+ hours). But I have spent a few hours in the cabin reading at night, so I think there's adequate lighting for that purpose.
