Our 2010 R25 a/c is not cooling.

A solid stream of water comes out the port side.

I can hear the compressor start and run normally.

The air flow is strong and the fan speed adjust easily.

The problem came on over weeks, very cold, cold, not so cold . . .

The unit is a Dometic Passpoet elite.

Where do I add gas? How do I gain access?

Thank you.

If you haven't done this already remove the screen in the A/C raw water intake and make sure it is clean. Take an ice pick or something similar and go around the inside edge of the strainer. I've had sea weed collect in this thin passage. Open the seacock and water should be flowing freely. I've found that a restriction in the strainer affects the A/C operation.
If it's a freon issue you may need an A/C tech.

As well check the screen that is in front of the cooling coils. These units can still pull air from behind the unit when the front is clogged with dust, so it may still be moving air but not over the coils. The screen is right on the unit not just at the cold air return. It is a pain to get in and out . Mine is like that and I would think they are all pretty similar.

Stuart, on our 2009 R25 the best way to access the a/c unit hi and low pressure fittings is in the cutout found under the port side passenger seat. Our seat is on hinges and can be lifted up to gain access. The screws which hold the seat in place are located along the wall under the window and the hinges on the aisle side of the seat. However, as noted by Irish Mist check both filter screens they do become dirty fairly easy and the one prior to the coils on our Passport Elite is a pain to get in and out.

Thank you both. I, long ago, removed and replaced the two OEM pump protectors for the generator and a/c with much larger protectors similar to those used be Ranger on the new boats.

I also cleaned and checked both protectors as you describe.

There is a full srream of water coming from the condenser discharge.

The compressor starts and runs normally but a hand on the plates senses no cold.

Since the problem came on over several weeks (shame on me for denying the obvious), I am convinced the freon pressure is low.

The control panel done NOT say LFP, but the sensor may be history,

So, next step, add some refrigerant.

WHERE is the low pressure refrigerant valve?

Must I take the shelf out to access the valves?

Thanks again. Warm, but not yet hot. Stu
