I took our 2018 R29-S for a shakedown cruise today after dewintering. Found that the Garmin was not displaying any depth; this was not an issue when we put her away.

Appreciate any advice on troubleshooting this issue.

Is your transducer powered up? Menu, sonar, transmit. I would check that first, Bob
 
Was there nothing? Dashes? what was on the display?
If it had been sitting all winter, it may be the pink antifreeze in the traducer cup went away. That is always a good place to start, and easy to fix.

Just had the same problem. Dashes showing on screen but no depth readout. Problem was loss of fluid in transducer cup. By the way in 2021 they moved the transducer location on the 31 to under the fridge, took a lot of looking and a call to the dealer to find it.
 
I concur the first thing to check is to make sure that the transducer cup mounted to the hull is still properly affixed and full of antifreeze. I used minus 100 degree antifreeze when ours needed to be filled. The second thing to check is that the sonar is still turned on at the Garmin 7612. Mine got turned off once, I believe by an electrical storm. It took me a very long time to figure out that you could actually turn the sonar off and on and only figured it out by playing with the system because there was nothing in the owner's manual about that function.
In our 2021 R29S, the transducer cup is mounted under the stateroom floor near the center of the hull in the vicinity of the shower sump (a lot easier to reach than the one on our 2015 R25 that was near the transom).
 
S. Todd: Do you remember the procedure for turning the sonar on and off? We did experience a recent electrical storm so that could be the issue.
 
Check for software update. Mine goes blank when I forget.
 
Mike, Sorry but I do not know exactly how I found the on/off location for the sonar. I did not know it was there at the time but was frustrated because I was getting no clicking noise from my transducer, even after Garmin sent me a new transducer. I just started playing around with the display and eventually found it. My guess is it was in settings for the sonar, but it was some years ago and I stumbled across it just looking for anything that might fix it. If you listen closely to your transducer (a stethoscope would be perfect but not necessary) and hear no noise then I would suspect your sonar is turned off. You can take the transducer out of the cup and listen to hear if it is working and it will not hurt anything. If you are getting the slight clicking noise then it is on and you have some other issue, either with low antifreeze in the cup (an easy fix) or some other settings problem.

From home screen select sonar, select menu, select set up, power up/transmit should be somewhere on the sonar set up page. Good luck Bob
 
It was lost fluid when my 7612s stopped reading bottom. The GT15 reservoir was dry inside. Unfortunately, I had to remove a very large amount adhesive and do a clean install closely following the instructions. The initial install should not have had adhesive inside the edges of the reservoir according to Garmin tech support. Garmin was helpful at providing install steps.

Before checking the GT15 fluid levels, reset your sonar settings to default by going from the sonar screen > Menu > Sonar Setup > Installation > Restore Defaults. If that does not bring back the picture and depth readings make sure that the connector for the device and the transducer have not corroded at all and that the power getting to your GPSMAP is good by testing the voltage between the two large pins on your red power cable plugged into the back of the GPSMAP.

I appreciate the support found on this site. In addition, I met Brian of Bb Marine in person at the dock in Ft Myers who took the time to troubleshoot the issue; now that is REAL community support.
