No Oil Temperature reading

I recently updated the software on several of my Garmin devices (7612, Reactor, sonar) and afterwards I noticed that the oil temperature reading on my chart page is now blank. I can display oil pressure and other engine data but not the oil temperature. Anyone else experienced this issue? I have a 2018 R27OB.

I have a 2018 R27 OB and I have never had oil temp, I thought that I needed to add a sensor to get.

I thought it was oil temperature that was being displayed, it normally reads 138 degrees when the engine is warmed up. After selecting lots of options, I happened to hit on coolant temperature which seems to give the same readings so that's probably what I had on the screen rather than oil temp.

I looked up Yamaha info and there is no Oil Temp sensor on 300 HP outboard. You can add a water Pressure Sensor, that is about it for optional sensors on the Yamaha Outboard. If your oil pressure is good and your water Temp is normal, then your oil temp should be fine, if your water temp is high then you could get high oil temp. Along with your gauges for oil pressure and water temp you should also have a alarm setup that will sound if the oil pressure drops to low or the water temp goes to high.
