To all you Northshore Massachusetts Tugnutters:

This Sunday is going to be a beautiful day for boating!

A great trip is meandering from Gloucester Harbor, under the Blyman Bridge and up the Annisquam River to Wingaersheek Beach. Throw an anchor, barbecue, walk the beach, chat with other Tugnutters.

Hope YOLO sees you there!!

Fantastic idea, Barry! Frankly, this type of trip is one of the main reasons we decided to buy the tug - parking at hose beaches is a pain! 😉 Of course, this weekend an old college buddy we haven't seen in years is coming into town, so we can't make it. But, we intend to make that trip at least once before the summer is over.

I suggest another idea for North Shore tugs, or even Mass Bay tugs - the Gloucester Schooner Race Labor Day weekend. I'm usually working aloft aboard the Friendship during the schooner race, but this year she'll not be sailing due to repairs to the mizzen mast. So, why not take the day and steam amongst the sails? Indian Summer will be there that Sunday, and I hope to see YOLO and others too. If you haven't experienced it, you really should. It's magnificent!
Best,
Doug

Barry (nice shot), and all, for future reference:

There are two ways to embed images in your posts.

If the picture you want to include is in one of your gallery folders (on Tugnuts), click on the g2Img button. That will open another window which will allow you to browse your galleries and select a picture.

If the picture isn't in your gallery, perhaps something you've seen elsewhere on the web, or in another personal web collection (i.e. flickr, picassa, etc.) then you click the Img button.

This will create the following string of characters in your posting window - then you copy and paste the URL (http://whatever...jpg) of the desired image in the middle, between the ][ brackets. The trick here is to determine the direct URL of the image. Various image hosting sites show it in different ways. Sometimes it's right up in the address bar. Other times it's listed under "Share This Image", etc.

You can determine if you have the correct URL by hitting the Preview button. If it displays, you're good to go. If it's not correct, the form will give you some kind of clue so you can go back and dig around. You'll only have to figure it out once for each host.

Thanks Bruce!

Great day on the Annisquam River! The Ranger Tugs (including Sallison) were the prettiest girls at the dance!
