Nova Kool Door Latch Hardware

The hardware that fastens the plastic latch to the top of the door on my Nova Kool refrigerator needs replacement. What’s there now are two oversized sheet metal screws, I think put in by the previous owner. Could someone with one of these refrigerators check and see what kind of hardware is on your door— sheet metal or machine. If it’s machine threaded, I’m going to attempt to tap it and install the correct hardware.

The latch on my door is on the top edge of the door on the right side. The model is a Nova Kool R4500.

Ours has sheet metal screws. We just replaced our latch. Bought a spare, seems like it will break again.

My 2019 refrigerator has sheet metal screws attaching the plastic latch to the door.

Sheet metal. (I just replaced ours too, and also got a spare.) And the screw heads do look oversized.

Thanks for checking, everyone. The screws on mine just aren’t biting any more. Now that I know the correct hardware, I’ll figure something out.

This all got started when I had to replace the plastic latch. They break!
