oil change on R-25

What procedure would I use to run the engine while on the trailer, to warm the oil before changing it. My R-25 has a cummins 150. I would like to change the oil on both the engene and the generator. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The boat should be parked in a place where the boat is level or slightly bow high. The place should allow drainage for the water from the exhaust. Pull the boat plug and remove the top and screen from the sea strainer. The seacock should be closed. I use a garden hose to keep the sea strainer full while the engine runs. It requires a fairly good flow to keep the sea strainer full. Some water will splash into the bilge and run out the drain hole. I don't have a generator and am not sure if it also gets its cooling water from the sea strainer.
 
On the 27 the generator has a separate strainer and seacock.
