Oil For Yanmar 4BY2-180

I am having a hard time finding Rotella T6 and if I can the $ is sky high... I would like to ask the group what oil they have used in their Yanmar's and are they happy with it.

I’ve been using Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W40 or the BMW Twinpower Turbo Diesel Motor Oil 5W30. Pick one or the other depending on price and availability. Both seem to work fine.

The Yanmar 4BY2-180 is a marinized BMW automobile engine. The Yanmar oil spec is the BMW LL01 oil spec. I use the 5W-40 version of this oil in my 4BY2-180:

The product label lists specifically that it meets the BMW LL01 oil spec.

I used Mobil-1 and Rotella. Quite frankly, as long as the API letters are the same or better it should not really matter what you use.
