My 2012 R29 Ranger Tug is the deluxe model with two AC lines and no propane therefore I need to run my generator to power my appliances like the cookstove or microwave when I have no shore power. It previously was working but now when I run my Onan generator, I only get one line of AC at the switch panel and the Inverter Charger does not have power. The AC panel shows AC on line 2, heat pump but not line 1. The alternator charger is working OK at the dock with shore piwer on line 1 so it appears that the Onan generator is make AC but only on one line. Any ideas?

This is Iron Ranger again, I got the generator charge line 1 on by setting the jumper switch to 1, I believe I had it on 1 and 2 previously. I am charging from the generator so the question is moot. I still don't completely understand the charging system and the 1,2 or 1&2 switch. For instance I can not open my engine compartment unless the switch is in the 1 position. I thought the switch was used sparingly to jump the engine battery in case it got run down. This topic can wait until the rendezvous of you have a few minutes free (unlikely!).

I have been doing more reading of the Tugnuts technical discussions, always a good idea! I now think my charging problem was caused by the battery bank being too low a voltage and the charging relay not allowing charging. I saw solutions online to jumper and start the engine and use the alternator to charge the system and open the charging relays which is what I inadvertently did. Lucky is better than good, both is best!
