If we are going to get together for opening day we should plan quickly as it is only a couple days (really just hours) away.
I talked to the harbormaster at Salpare Bay and we can meet up there. We can tie up on the headwalk in front of the office, and the dock to the east of E-3 to E-7. If by some freakish chance we have too many boats we can stern tie in the area in front of the office because the boats in the first few slips are broker boats and only have about a 1% chance of going anywhere according to the harbormaster. Here is a map:

Salpare Bay has a breakfast from 8AM to 10AM I'm sure we are all welcome but I did not ask. We have a "Potluck" a couple times a month at Slapare Bay and I didn't ask what the marina was providing. Most of the time I go home with most of what I bring. Generally it's a pay what you feel for food and drinks above what you bring. Generally there is plenty to drink. 😉 I can ask if anyone is planning on getting there that early.
That being said there is also a picnic area on the dock with a BBQ and tables. If we want to meet up at 10:30 or so we could cook some brats or burgers and head up to watch the parade of boats that begins at 12:30 according to the schedule. See schedule here: http://crya.us/pdf/CRYA_opening_day_schedule.pdf
Perhaps we could then go to Tyee for the no host bar and Hors d'oeuvres at 3PM.
Anyone is welcome to comment or change times or locations.
I will email a post to this link to those I know of in the Portland area or people that have shown an interest in meeting up in Portland. If there are no takers Gini and I spoke tonight and we plan to meet up for some lunch somewhere on The Island at about 11 as their boat is at Schooner Creek getting some bottom paint.
