If we are going to get together for opening day we should plan quickly as it is only a couple days (really just hours) away.

I talked to the harbormaster at Salpare Bay and we can meet up there. We can tie up on the headwalk in front of the office, and the dock to the east of E-3 to E-7. If by some freakish chance we have too many boats we can stern tie in the area in front of the office because the boats in the first few slips are broker boats and only have about a 1% chance of going anywhere according to the harbormaster. Here is a map:

Salpare Bay has a breakfast from 8AM to 10AM I'm sure we are all welcome but I did not ask. We have a "Potluck" a couple times a month at Slapare Bay and I didn't ask what the marina was providing. Most of the time I go home with most of what I bring. Generally it's a pay what you feel for food and drinks above what you bring. Generally there is plenty to drink. 😉 I can ask if anyone is planning on getting there that early.

That being said there is also a picnic area on the dock with a BBQ and tables. If we want to meet up at 10:30 or so we could cook some brats or burgers and head up to watch the parade of boats that begins at 12:30 according to the schedule. See schedule here: http://crya.us/pdf/CRYA_opening_day_schedule.pdf

Perhaps we could then go to Tyee for the no host bar and Hors d'oeuvres at 3PM.

Anyone is welcome to comment or change times or locations.

I will email a post to this link to those I know of in the Portland area or people that have shown an interest in meeting up in Portland. If there are no takers Gini and I spoke tonight and we plan to meet up for some lunch somewhere on The Island at about 11 as their boat is at Schooner Creek getting some bottom paint.

I can also be reached by email at uphoff123(at)Yahoo(dot)com

Not sure where that reply came from....trailer in our boat North on the 3rd of June for 2 months...

David,
Thanks for the PM & your efforts in getting us all together. Unfortunately I'll not likely be able to make this outing. Enjoy the day, js

David:
Thank you for the PM. We are still undecided on the parade on Sat. I have the boat in the drive way at the moment. I will have some adjusting to do on the shaft packing when I do put it into the water. Hope to see you folks Sat. or at a later get together.

I'm sorry we missed you all this weekend - crazy week.

I did catch a tan cutwater and a blue ranger in the channel near Blue Frog Moorage. PM me and I'll send you a couple of photos. Always fun to have a pic of your boat on the water.....

Cheers

We went down the channel to the bridge then turned around and came back up and stopped at the Island Cafe. Or 21 is blue. I'd love pictures if was a blue 21 you saw. There was a tan Cutwater at Sundance when we were there visiting Lenny.

After we ate we went over to CRYC and noticed that there is a Red Ranger below the condos at the dock where the fireboat is. There was no name on the tug that I saw.

There is also another blue Ranger at Jantzen Bay. If I remember correctly it is named Lizzie B. I'm not sure who it belongs to, anyone know?
