Where is the optional head located in the 21 EC.
Thanks

If you look at the 21EC interior line drawing here

Youl'l see it next to the helm below there and the mates seat. It's the rectangle with the little round thing (pump) in the corner. I don't think they mean an optional location, just that the head itself is an option.

As far as I'm concerned, the optional location for my CD22 when I had it was in the cockpit overnight. If you've got a full enclosure, all the better. At least then you won't scare the others when at a crowded anchorage.... 😱

It is fitted under the vberth.

Just to add a bit to it, it is fitted underneath the center filler cushion to the aft of the v-berth. I has its own seacock located in the starboard storage compartment under the cushion. (Raw water head)

Aha, it's NOT a porta-potti and IS optional!! :!: Never having been on a 21, I didn't know that. Thanks Andrew!

Does it have a holding tank?

Charlie

It does have a holding tank and I think its 10 gallons. My mind is runnin all over with this new 29 to remember specs on. It also has a macerator pump. This holding tank setup is unique because it does not use a Y-valve. So, if you are at a pump out station or discharge zone for the macerator you don't have to mess with anything. It has a five second delay on the activation for the macerator so your dog or kids cant go "Oh whats this button" and discharge in the middle of the puget sound. 😀

That begs another question Andrew.... Where does it discharge? If there's only one place and you can put a pump out hose on it, it must be above the waterline or on deck. 😱

Are you going to be at SBS09 this next week? If so, I'll see you there, would like to meet you.

On most of the holding tanks I have installed with different manufactures there have been Y-valves. This tank has two discharge ports on it. One for pump out and one for macerator. The pump out fitting is located on the deck on the starboard side just forward of the cabin. The macerator thru hull is above the waterline on the starboard side as well. You can see the thru hull by opening the cabinet on the inside underneath the helm seat.

I will be at the SBS January 30th, 31st and February 1st. I feel like im missing out but I hope I will get to meet as many as I can. I am in Florida right now prepping the R29 for its water run tomorrow. The boat is amazing and I am very proud of what John and Dave have put together. I will be attending Stuart Trawlerfest helping Wefings with some demos on the R25 and R29. Hope to meet you at the SBS Charlie!

I guess it would really help if I got off my behind and made a manual for the R21? 😀 It will be done shortly after I return home from Florida.

Gonna miss you Andrew, we'll be there this next weekend but not that one. Fly safely, try and remember where you are and don't forget, don't say "Hi Jack" to anyone on the plane!

thanks...
