I am planning this June to take my 27 from NJ to Hurst Marina (by trailer) just below Ottawa. Putting it in there, I plan to go to the Ottawa River and go east for approximately 30 miles. Turning around, I plan to go back and do the Rideau Canal ( which I did 2 years ago ) and going past Kingston do the Thousand Islands and some of the St Lawrence (just to experience it). I then plan to return to Kingston and getting the trailer/truck from Hurst Marina and driving it to Kingston, take the boat out there and return home by trailer. My question is, "If someone has done these areas, are there any "DON'T MISS" or "DO MISS" spots along the way?

Thanks for reading this and any thoughts you might have.

Heck you might as well do the loop! Start in Ottawa - down the Rideau to Trenton - down the St. Lawrence to Montreal then up the Ottawa River and back to Ottawa. On my bucket list if I get the right boat.

I did a small part of the Rideau back in the 70's. Perth was a side trip - you could stay there in a park that was the sight of the last fatal gun duel fought in Canada.

I did a Poker Run in 2011. We went from Gananoqua to Rockport and back. It was a fun day albeit a tad windy so the St. Lawrence was pretty choppy. A few pics of that trip here - http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _album.php

Enjoy the trip

I was going to suggest the same thing, might as well do the loop... We are in the process to buy a 25 classic because our 21EC is almost sold, we will most likely be in the thousand islands this summer might see you there... Our marina is in the middle of the Rideau Canal, in Portland.

- down the Rideau to Trenton -

Sorry I got mixed up with the Trent - that should read "down the Rideau to Kingston".
