We are taking delivery of our new R29CB next week. We have a 9.5 foot RIB and a 8HP Tohatsu engine that weighs 85 lbs. We used to keep the motor on the Rib and hoist it up on davits at the stern of our sailboat. Although I'm pretty strong, I'm a little leery of trying to mount/unmount the outboard from the dinghy while on the water. I plan on installing a Weaver davit system for the RIB. So here's a couple of relevant questions for the factory or anyone else:
1. Is there a good/strong spot to mount an outboard bracket that would support such a heavy outboard?
2. What is the best location to mount a crane for the outboard?
3. Is an 85lb outboard a little big to be toting on a R29? If so, what would be the max weight you would recommend?
Thank you in advance.
