Good Afternoon:

I just completed installing a Garhauer (LD6-1 W/34") Lifting Davit on Tingira (R29 Sedan). Fairly easy install after I identified a location that minimized cutting and drilling. I chose the portside where the cupholder is - cut the bottom out of the cupholder, added a King Starboard "donut" and the provided hardware. This will allow me to easily remove the davit when not in use and retain the original design.

Can anyone recommend an outboard motor lifting harness for a Yamaha 6 HP?

Appreciate any help!

I installed a Katolift on my RT31 and have been very happy with it.

Take a look at the OBL 100 from: https://outboardlift.com

No personal use of the lifting harness, however, looks very solid. I'd be interested in any photographs of your Garhauer lift set up on the R-29 especially how you utilized the cupholder, King starboard support brackets and associated hardware.

I have the Garhauer list on my RT29S as well. I went with the Davis Lift harness. I wish I had looked further. It works. But I think it is a PIA. After seeing the OBL 100, I think I may order one. It looks much simpler and easier. Especially the lift loop in the middle.

That is my .02....

Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations!

I found another option that I tested this morning and is simple/works. Take appropriate line which goes under the back of the engine, crosses diagonally over the top, under the front, diagonally across the top and then the two ends are reef knotted. I then put a shackle around both turns where they cross over the top of the engine.

I have a bunch of pics but can't post them to my album. Happy to share the Garhauer install and the above harness if anyone is interested; please send me a message with your email address and I will provide.

For anyone who may be considering a Garhauer lift I have one very lightly used and set up for installation on a C-28 or C-26. It is Brian Brown’s setup for the port cup holder. I bought it from him before I got my boat and subsequently found I didn’t need it. Mike Ahern on Miss Kendy (currently doing the Down East Loop)
