So I am hoping for a knowledgeable opinion on mounting a substantial out rigger mount on the rear most side position between the window and the aft cabin wall on my R25. Viewed rom the inside, this would be in the head in the rear corner about 10-12" from the ceiling. My concern is I will have to drill a 3" through hole near the top of this 7" wide panel to mount the outrigger holder. The panel will be reinforced with a .375" thick 20" long by 6" wide aluminum plate on the outside adjacent to the corner and the window. I will probably glue it with the 3m adhesive to the outside FRP surface and through bolt it to .75 thick wood plank on the inside of the cabin. The question of course is the cabin wall strong enough for this after a 3" through hole is put in it. The reinforcing will be used to distribute the "load" to the entire surface away from the mounting hole. I know it sounds like a questionable idea but there is really no where else to mount outriggers on the boat. Most of the reason I own this boat is to fish with it. There will be some torsion pressure against this "wall" while fishing with the outriggers. My old solution was not really working out. Thanks for considering this unusual request.
