Outside Rocker Switch and LED not coming on

My Ranger 27 OB has 2 rocker switches at the transome door. When I turn them on, the LED lights for the cockpit illuminate, except for one on port side transome. The other switch turns on the underwater trim tab lights. Again, the port side won't illuminate.

Is this a bad switch or bad LED lights?

I searched for the "carlton switch" but I cannot find one like the one installed - has a way to connect the two.

Also, how do I remove the LED on the transome?

I’m guessing your switch is similar to what I had to replace for my swim pod bilge pump. The Carlton label is misleading. That part is just the outside trim for the actual switch. Your switch might be this but you will also need to replace the cover. Blue Sea Systems part. The part number is 8282B. https://www.bluesea.com/products/8282/C ... k_-_OFF-ON

The switches do go bad and are relatively cheap.

If any of the other lights turn on, then it isn't the switch.

It's either the light itself or the connection to the light. I've had both cockpit and underwater lights go bad, and mine, too, were on the port side, coincidence, I suspect.

Watson1987: I suspected as much too. I am an electric illiterate. I am trying to sourse the lights now.

Check out the Nilight site for switches and leds. They have quite a variety and their prices are reasonable.
