I have a 2016 R 27 with the D3 engine. How often should the flax in the packing gland be replaced? Does anyone know the correct size flax for this boat?
 
Is yours dripping excessively? If so, try to adjust it. If that doesn’t cure the excessive drip, then change the packing.

Per the previous comment there's no need to replace packing based purely on time. If it's leaking excessively try tightening it. If it can't be tightened then it's time to replace it.
