Paddleboard Racks

ive considered them but worry about line of sight from the inside cockpit beyond the railings

Anyone here use these paddle board racks on the boat rails? If so- do they work well? I'm not interested in hoisting two rigid 11ft paddleboards onto the roof rack on the cutwater!

We have them. Works well, only issue is occasional spray from wake hitting board while underway. They also make a model that allows a kayak to be carried.

Are you planning on mounting them on the stern rails? If so mount them high. I would estimate bottom edge of the board 2' off the swim platform.

This is a Pic of your boat running at a slow cruise 10 to 11 kts. If the boards are mounted close to swim platform surface the water coming off the hull at the stern will hit the boards. Some of that water will end up in the cockpit. The faster you run the boat the worse it will get.

I have my inflatable mounted on the platform. It is 8'10" long. I have it offset to the starboard because the stern tube of the inflatable sits 5 " up off the platform and water will hit it when I am above 3200 rpm. The offset makes the stern bottom tube (as it sits on the weaver davit flush with the port side hull. I get no splash back on the ports side. The bow of the inflatable is 1 foot above the swim platform and hangs past the starboard hull 7" as measured at lowest point and 10" over. The 7" over hang will catch water when cruising above 3400 rpm and 2' waves or larger. If the bow was any lower it would continually be hit by the spray off the hull. Having a flat board hang past the hull 1.5 ' each side may cause water to spray into the cockpit. The transom of the C26 is 8' wide. The transom of a R29 is 1.5 ' wider than the C26.
This photo shows elevation of inflatable and the over hang. At higher cruise speeds the hull spray will hit the bow of the inflatable.

We have an inflatable board mounted on the pilot house roof it is light and easy to store. It is a one person pull out of the water and store. It does require 2 people if it is windy.
