After finding a high copper content paint cheaper then Trinidad. I found I could paint the whole bottom while on the trailer.

All it took was: paint all you could reach with two coats. Use two hydraulic jacks, one in front on the keel with a steel plate to distribute the pressure. and one in back on the stern keel plate. As it lifted the boat it would lean one way or the other allowing me to paint above the bunk. Let dry and push the boat over to get the other one.
Worked out well, course a little help from a couple Grandsons made it even easier. 🙂

Gawd invented flat bellied kids for a reason...

Well I do have to say I am impressed Captd!
It sure would be great if you could video that and post it. What great thinking. That is one of the better things i heard on tugnuts in a while. Way to go!
Thanks for the good post,

IF FOR SOME REASON YOU CANT GET THE BOAT ACTUALLY RAISED HIGH ENOUGH TO PAINT UNDER THE BUNKS,, GET THE BOAT STABLE , WEIGHT OFF THE TRAILER, AND LET THE AIR OUT OF THE TIRES ..IT WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER 3 INCHES OF CLEARANCE.. I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE... STEVEANDTINA,... formALLY [[NOTACLUE]] 😉 😉

Sounds good!
What high copper paint did you use?
On my Sailboat it has had Trinidad applied to the bottom for the last 15 years.
So when I bought my Ranger 25-SC I had the factory install Trinidad.
It would sure be nice to find a high copper paint at a lower cost.

Thanks,
Tony M.

BlueWater at 45% copper, ( cuperous oxcide) can be out of the water, Harder finish, minimal sanding, extra slime control.
I think I ordered it through Marine zink. It went on nicely. About half the price of Trinidad. I will check and correct this info later.

I knew someone would ask about the paint so I wrote all the information down and had it by the computer.
We are on our way to the rendezvous in Bremerton and (Dee) left my notes at home.

We are in Spokane. I have a couple tests to do in the morning. If no more bypasses are necessary we will be on our way to the factory on Wednesday.

Good idea to let the air out of the tires, Steve. A guy might need to stablelize the boat. We could push the boat back and forth to paint above the bunks but if it was three more inches off the bunks, I don't think we could have moved it. A person could do it and use blocks on one side and then the other.

Anyways the job is done and it was quite easy.
