I need some advise, If I'm going to keep my boat in the water the prop must be painted as well as the bottom. Does anybody have any thoughts?

I paint my trim tabs and Prop. I have used Pettit Barnacle Barrier and I currently use cold galvanized paint. Good results with both. I found the latter less expensive and easier to apply since it is a brush on.

The last two years I have been using this paint with great results boating in Fl and RI. https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/u ... pid=336117
I prefer a brush on paint rather than the aerosol so you don't have to deal with the overspray. The Petit Baranacle Barrier is a good paint, I didn't care for the cold galvanizing paint, I had a lot of barnacles the season that I used it. Check around your area for what works for other boaters, every area is different when it comes to marine growth.

Same for me. Barnacle barrier. Works well. And a hell of a lot cheaper than propspeed. Antifouling paint will just wash off

I do not paint my prop. I use the boat a lot and I've never seen any growth on the prop over the years of owning the RT models.

I do not paint my trim tabs. They do collect growth even with constant use of the boat, but my diver service simply brushes the crud off easily each time with a soft brush when they come by.

My boat is in the salt water 100% of the time all year round.

i keep getting mussels growing behind the trim tab rams! wait for the summer season and i'll have a nice dinner!
