Curious if I can hook up my i phone to the Clarion System in my R25SC so I can enjoy Pandora, if I can what will I need for the connector, I'm not on the boat now and it is unclear in the Clarion manual. Thanks for and help!

The stereo unit on our R25 has two auxiliary input jacks. For listening to Pandora on my iPhone I use the jack on the front of the unit. Just get a 3.5 mm stereo cable and plug one end into your iPhone and the other into the stereo. Since we don't have speakers in the cockpit, we have a Bluetooth speaker that we use when sitting out there. Ours is a Logitech but there are several to choose from if you go that route.

I have the fusion with the docking station, but upgraded to an iphone S5 hence I can't dock, but I connect via the auxilarary input jacks and it works great. I get my iTunes, Pandora and news stil via the iphone.

We also have the fusion and connect with the USB input and Pandora, iTunes, etc all work great thru my phone

Bluetooth is the way to go...

Most head units have aftermarket blue tooth receivers that can be purchased. We chose to use a Logitech bluetooth receiver that feeds our Fusion head unit via the aux in, when we tested it had the best S/N and fewest drops. We hardwired a 5volt switching power supply to feed it. Completely invisible - I wish it would support a custom device name... details...

Thanks for the info......Why bring CDS when we have Pandora!!

Excuse my elementary electronic knowledge but what is Fusion?

Excuse me too, but what is Pandora ??

Many of our tugs have Fusion brand marine stereo systems. These have an iPod dock that accepts iPods/iPhones with the original style 30 pin connector. I use a iPod classic (160GB storage) that holds our complete music collection. The docked iPod/iPhone is controlled with the buttons/knob on the Fusion stereo. The Fusion display shows the song name, menu selections, etc.

Pandora is an internet based streaming music service with both free and fee based premium services. You use a free app on various devices/PCs to stream the music. I use this with my iPhone in my car.

Keep in mind that with Pandora, or other music streaming application, the data comes off of your plans data monthly allotment.

Any overages will incur different fees, depending on carrier.

an estimation tool on attwireless.com shows that 34 hours of streaming music would use about 1.02 gigabytes of data.

Knotflying, you can buy and adaptor to convert iPhone 5 back to 4 and then be able to use your I5 with existing sound equipment.
The adaptor is only a few dollars, search on ebay.

I assume the 3.5 mm connector for the i phone audio would be male on both ends?

The adaptor has a 3.5mm male for audio and male "I5" connector on one side and the other side is the wide I4 female plug. The I4 has the audio built into the charging cable/plug as well as a separate audio connection on the top of the phone. The I5 has the audio connection on the bottom of the phone. There are advantages and disadvantages of each system. I will post a picture of the device when I get home.

Yes a 3.5 mm cable with male connectors on each end will work with iPhone's either 4 or 5. Just plug the other end into the aux in port on the stereo in your boat, car, etc. Of course if you have a Bluetooth capability on your stereo, you can connect that way.

I found this Bluetooth adapter at Dx.com and the price is right. I have one of these in both the car and in the Cutwater with the Fusion stereo. It comes with all the cables and power adapters. Listening to Pandora is easy the phone can be elsewhere plugged in to power.
