Permanent fix for Autopilot issues?

I have a problem about my C30 2018 always drifting to port and having to steer starboard. Also, no stops when turning to starboard; wheel turns forever. Called FP who had me call Garmin. Garmin is sending a new GPH 10 (1.2L) pump under warranty.
Should I install the check valve kit anyways?
Should I put in the T and only 3 connections to the pump anyways?
I don't want to have to put in a new pump 1-3 years from now out of my own pocket.
What else should I do to preserve my new pump?
 
This is a known problem and there is a fix for it. My dealer (Sundance Yachts-they were great!) had it repaired. Garmin actually manufactured a new part for the fix and the dealer had it installed by Wave Point Marine in Anacortes, WA. Great people- you may want to call and ask them what the fix is and have them refer you to a Garmin dealer in your area.

Fixed mine and its like a brand new boat with the way it steers now. (2020 C24).
 
My opinion, Have the check valve it installed as well. My 2018 R-29 went through 2 pumps in a year. Now the 3rd pump is in and the check valve kit and it seems cured.. It is like a new boat.
