My R23 doesnt have any lift arms on the port/starboard lazarette hatches so they dont always stay propped open when I want them to. I have seen some of the larger boats (R27?) that have a hydraulic arm so I thought I would install something similar, or perhaps a hatch spring like https://www.go2marine.com/Sea-Dog-Stain ... tch-Spring

BUT it is not clear what is the best way to attach the arm to either the cockpit floor or the hatch. Is there a bracket involved? Can someone take a picture of both ends of their set up and share it here? Very much appreciated - thanks!

If I need to keep the hatches open I use a bungee to hold them up on my C24. I thought about lifting arms but the bungee did the trick.

Thanks everyone - this is exactly what I needed. Much appreciated!

I decided to use a hatch spring instead of hydraulic arms because 1) they were available, and 2) I thought they were clever in how they worked.

Here is a ~10 second video showing them in action: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/XxLzs_DAVgU
