Hi everyone, our C26 is the first boat we’ve had with a wet head (our sailboat has a standalone shower), and we need to outfit it with a suitable shower curtain. I’m curious to see how others have handled it, specifically what parts of the head are covered, and where you’ve cut the curtain.
Pics would be awesome if convenient, but even a written description would help! Thank you all so much!!!

I tried several different curtain rods and suction cup configurations. All worked but not that good the biggest issue was they made a small area smaller. I made 2 rods to custom fit the contours of the ceiling . The round mounting plates were made to mount to the liner and the rods hang level. The plates and rods are threaded The rods are at two elevations, this required two curtains and a zipper to close the corner. The ends and the bottoms of the curtails have snaps installed to hold the curtain to the wall and bulkhead. I coated the curtain with Rust-Oleum water proofing (works great the curtain doesn't ever feel wet) I used the privacy curtain that is used in the berth area for the shower curtain. We removed it right after purchasing the boat. So we found a good use for it.

Shower curtain across back of wall . Zipper in the corner

Rod running level notice angle the plate is mounted to.

Shower curtain set up for use. This gives full use of the head area for a shower. The door is covered with factory curtain and the door wall does get wet wood so I apply a coat of wood paste wax to all the wood in the head area each year to help seal it, the water repels off the wood.

A closer look at the plates and rods.

The next project I did was moving the head in the corner to open the shower basin up a little bit more. The head was mounted facing the wall , taking up needed space. There was room to move the head into the corner of the area and have the head face the door. That small move increased the usable space in the head for showering and other needs!
Factory head install

New location of the head opening up the Floor and shower basin.

Head is mounted in the corner facing the door.

Cleaned up the pluming and finished the head plumbing through the liner.

The head is small, every little bit counts when planning on spending extended time on board. I came up with this idea when I was replacing the joker valve on the head. The factory install made a very tight bend in the waste hose. The hose is stiff so I decided it would be easier to unscrew the head from the floor to replace the valve and seat it properly. I then realized moving the head in the corner would increase the leg room in the head. A little job turned into a bigger job.

If you have any questions on this PM me and I would be glad to answer them. I have many other changes and customizes done to my C26 posted in my Album.

Brian, you mentioned using the factory curtain for the door. I assume you mean a door curtain installed at the factory. My C28 has no such curtain but I would love to get one. I’m tired of mopping up water in the v berth after each shower.

The curtain would be easy to make. It just snaps to the wall covering the door + a few inches past the opening. I would check to see if it is available thru Ranger parts. That is even easier. It is a necessity to use the shower.
