Subject: Piping TV audio to the Fusion radio speakers

Has anyone been able to configure the TV audio output to the Fusion radio speakers ?

Super easy way?

3.5mm to RCA Cable, GearIT Pro Series...
I bought this on amazon.
Plugged it into the tv headphone jack.
Found the correct rca red and white connection at the back of fusion.
Works great
I'm sorry on my c28 the location of the tv in relation to the back of the fusion
Make for a much easier fit

Thank you. I was hoping it was even easier with a simple TV on-screen setup control.

Hmmmmm..... So it's a matter of running the RCA cable from the port side located TV's headphone jack all the way over to starboard side to the Fusion radio. The Fusion radio is an integral part of the helm console so will need to access the backside of the radio via the large mirror door in the head enclosure. I think this can be done fairly easily as the coax cable at back of TV goes through a spacious hole leading to base of windshield. The cable can then be hidden running along the base of the windshield over the the helm and hopefully can find a way into the backside of the helm console and then to the Fusion radio.

Again.... Thanks much. 🙂 I think this will be an easy thing to do.

BTW... My TV picks up ZERO channels at my marina. I bought a cheap window antenna to se if that would help, but no, still zero channels found.

I have 2 of these, paired together. The one connected to the Majestic TV 3.5mm plug in transmit mode. The other in receive mode and plugged into the Aux 1 of the Fusion. You now have audio from the TV into the fusion without wires. I tried just using 1 transmitting from the TV and pairing to the Bluetooth of the Fusion but the results were inconsistent.

We also use a Bluetooth transmitter. It is small and tucks into the back of the TV. I have had to reset it by holding down the button on the transmitter. It doesn't get much use because we have yet to pickup a TV signal.

This model is unavailable, but there is a newer model.

Hmmmmm.... this is a very cool method/solution..... thank you. 😀 I especially like wireless solution, although hard wiring is likely more trouble free with consistent results.

Has this method worked well for you ?

I'm also working on being able to display the Garmin 7612's display on the TV. There used to be a ethernet cable running from the Garmin chartplotter to the TV but RT has dropped this connection these days as the 7612 now hosts its own Wi-Fi network. The trick is, it seems, being able to connect to this network from a device such as the Apple TV4 attached to the TV's HDMI input. So far I've configured this and had the Apple TV on the Garmin's Wi-Fi but have yet to figure out how to get the Garmin's display displaying on the TV. This would be a great benefit to me for 1st Mate lurking in the forward saloon seeing how the cruise is progressing etc. The alternative would be I guess using BlueChart mobile on her iPad. Any ideas on how to display the Garmin's display on the TV using the Garmin's hosted Wi-Fi network ?

I have had no issues with the two adapters paired together. I actually stopped using the speakers in the boat as i find my portable Bose unit has much better sound.

The only way to get the Chartplotter mirrored on the TV is to leverage the DVI port on the back to an HDMI input on the TV. You cannot display it over the wifi. The wifi is for pairing the companion apps from a tablet or phone using the Garmin Helm app (very buggy from my initial observations)

Thanks for that info.... and is what I've suspected all along over past few days trying to figure it out.

It's a shame the Garmin 7612 doesn't have a similar feature that Apple provides for mirroring their displays to a TV via a feature named AirPlay. If Garmin had that, that would be awesome. I use the Apple AirPlay feature to mirror or extend my laptop's screen to the boat's TV that I attach my Apple TV4 box to via HDMI. It works very well and can have a system with two displays as well as playing movies etc for the grandkids and TV programs I've recorded earlier to playback on the boat's TV screen.

You could connect the Garmin Helm app to the plotter and then mirror your iPhone/pad display to tv. Extra man in the middle but would achieve the same effect. Just be careful, the Garmin helm app can control the plotter

Yes, a good alternative.... thanks. 🙂

From a previous thread n this issue.....

I purchased the following from Amazon:

TaoTronics TT-BA06 High-Fidelity Wireless Portable Bluetooth 4.0 Stereo Music Transmitter (Not A Bluetooth Receiver) for 3.5mm Audio Devices Sold by: Sunvalleytek $35.99

Fusion MS-BT100 Bluetooth Dongle for Fusion Marine Stereo Head Units
Sold by: Amazon.com LLC $41.41

The TT-BA06 goes on the TV. It comes with pretty good instructions. The BT-100 goes on the Fusion Stereo. It also comes with good instructions. Follow them exactly. You will need to remove the Fusion unit to get at the appropriate wires. You will need to make a couple of splices for the power and ground.

After the first "pairing," it is automatic when "Aux" is selected on the Fusion unit. Works great. Lower the TV volume to zero or mute, as there is a very slight lag in the Bluetooth process.

Good Listening....

After reading here and talking with a Majestic TV tech I found another option for connecting our R29S' Fusion speakers to the TV for better sound. For $10.00 I purchased a 3.5 mm mini-to-RCA Stereo Audio Cable. I plugged the 3.5mm jack into the TV earphone jack, ran the cable into the area under the port side dash fan and connected the 2 RCA jacks to "Aux In 1" on the pigtail coming off the back side of the Fusion. When complete you would select AUX on your source list of the Fusion UD750 and depending on your TV settings either turn up the volume or you may have to check the speaker settings on the TV for a variable setting. Bottom line is this worked and we now have a much better sound system for the TV. As the R29S has 2 TV's and what I did was set up on the stateroom tv when we want to watch the saloon tv we'll turn both on, turn the volume down on the saloon tv and pipe the sound thru the stateroom tv/Fusion speaker setup.
