This is the first time I’m documenting a boat instead of registering it. With that said where do those of you who’ve documented your boats place your yearly tags? I’ve seen some place it on their window. Thanks

Where your state requires the sticker to be placed? In NJ it's on the bow hull just under the rub rail, but I've seen them just under the helm windows.

Forward part of the side helm windows. Keep it off the fiberglass if you can.

That’s consistant with what I’ve seen on a handful of boats I’ve seen. Thanks

In CA, no tags...its documented!

In the State of Washington state registration and payment of fees s required and the sticker goes in the same place as it did on an undocumented vessel. You do not need to and should not display the State numbers on the side of the boat. This is similar to most States.

For a pleasure craft it is often the lender that requires the vessel to be USCG documented so they can file a preferred lean on the vessel. There is no legal requirement to "USCG document" a pleasure vessel.
