Subject: Placing webbing/netting on R29 CB's top rails for safety ?

I have small children at times that climb up to my Command Bridge (with an attendant adult). We are concerned that if the boat is rocking a child might be thrown up against the side rails that have openings large enough to allow a child to pass through if the child lost balance.

With this in mind I'm considering installing webbing/netting on the railings for safety reasons.

Has anyone done this so far ? If so, what kind of webbing/netting was used ?

Thank you.... 🙂

Do a search on lifeline netting. Very common on sailboats and available from many sources.

Cheers,

Bruce

As Bruce said netting is very common on sailboats. Due to the skimpy railing and the fact they are always heeling and frequently have decks awash it also handy for keeping sails, lines, dogs, kids, etc, aboard. We had the foredeck railing netted on our Westsail mainly for keeping the headsails from washing over the side when hauled down. Should be easy to find.

Thanks for the advice and the reference.... all very welcome/useful for me. 😀
