I am surprised at how many people are unfamiliar with Barnacle Buster. Has always worked well for me. Of course there are other similar products too.
I came upon a nifty way to demonstrate its use outside of an engine cooling system. My thruster props were nothing to be proud of, and needed attention.

Yeah, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Next drop it in a strong solution of the ol' buster. This was two to one. Safe enough for this, for the cooling system follow the directions on the bottle.

Starts to fizz right away. I left it in for an hour. I then used a brass brush to clean the prop up but I didn't have to clean hard. Then dropped in clean water.
Good result.

Tomorrow I'll paint with Trilux 33. The props are 50 bucks a piece. I used about $7.50 worth of buster. Works for me.
