Plugged toilet and overboard Macerator doesn't pump.

Problem 1)
2017 R29 tecma toilet plugs up with solids yet flushes liquid. Twice the toilet plugged with solids and took a half hour to unplug with brush and plunger. Macerator in toilet works. I am going to remove toilet and check. What new gaskets should be replaced in addition to joker? Any tips?
Problem 2)
Overboard Macerator runs and doesn't discharge anything. Can I put a garden hose at hull outlet to try to back flush Macerator? No success, then I will remove Macerator. Any advice?
These are two independent problems.

Check toilet hoses for accumulated mineral buildup. May just need to change them out.

You could try a hose nozzle up the macerator output, just don't use the same nozzle that you fill the water tanks with!

Run some C.H. (Cleans Hoses) from Raritan, let soak in your hoses overnight. It'll remove any scale and sludge build ups.

I'm tell'n ya.. that stuff is magic in a bottle. It saved me a lot of time and swearing (replacing hoses). I poured it down the toilet, and let it sit for hours.
It's magic. Well worth every cent. We have it on our Amazon affiliate site for $139/gal. and 1 gallon is most likely all that's needed.

I dunno. I used C.H. on my toilet/head, and it returned its function to that of a brand new boat. My toilet flushes like an airplane vac-u flush now. I've not used the products you mention, and I no longer have issues with our toilet.

I have used Barnacle Buster (BB) to clear the toilet discharge line with similar success to what Martin experienced with CH It really works well! It is my understanding that all the products you mention are similar acid based products. Another similar product is Sew Clean. In the case of BB I believe the acid used is phosphoric acid and I have read that CH is rebranded Sew Clean. Peggy Hall (a recognized expert on this subject) recommends Muratic Acid for salt water toilets and CLR for fresh water toilets. She also recommends regular flushing with vinegar to keep the hoses clean.

After posting I did the same search and stumbled into Peggy's expertise! Good stuff!

In my research I found several boating forums where Peggy was answering questions all about the head. She's clearly the expert on marine heads, especially salt-water heads.

LaZIna and I have no interest in converting to a composting toilet. We put toilet paper down our toilet. We also have no interest in converting to a freshwater head. We just can't carry that much additional water on our small boat to justify a freshwater head. Our friends in their 65' Outer Reef that we rafted against for a couple of nights have freshwater heads and a water maker on board. (Picture of us rafted to their gorgeous boat is in the video, timestamp 8:43).

I'm hoping we're good now for another 5 years of boating.
