Lisa and I are planning on purchasing a crab pot/trap so we can catch Dungeness crabs while in the PNW. It just dawned on me that I might need a fishing license in Washington and or Canada. Can any of our Tugnut members tell us what out of state and out of country (Canada vs US) residents need in the form of a shell fish license?

Hi Jim and Lisa,
You can go to the "wash dept of fish and game" on the Google search and get all the info you will need.
All the best,
Bob and Nita

Cheaper to buy them.

Or do as I do...sit on the dock and look hungry.

That goes for fish as well in most cases:

Fishing Boat and Trailer: $45,000
Fishing License: $38.00
Fishing Equipment: $5,000.00

1 pound of Halibut $18.00

I know that doesnt replace the comraderie of fishing with friends and family and enjoying the outdoors but..........

You need a Shellfish/Seaweed license, a Puget Sound Dungeness crab endorsement and that comes with the required catch record card.

Page 8 and 125 of the Regs gives the license requirements.

A friend told me Costco has two pots, with line and buoys for $72. I haven't verified which type of pots they are though.
