I was working in the cockpit lazarette around noon time on a sunny Wednesday afternoon when I noticed what appeared to be ray of sunlight reflecting off the top of the Kisae DC-DC charger. On our 2021 R27 Ranger Tug the Kisae DC-DC charger is mounted aft port side behind the thruster battery. Access to the Kisae is challenging to say the least. I was baffled as to where this ray of sunlight was emanating from. It didn't take long to discover that the sunlight was passing through the aft most port side cup holder weep hole. I was surprised to discover the port side cup holder weep hole was directly above the Kisae meaning any rain getting into the cup holder would drip directly onto the Kisae. This is scary for the Kisae electronics and it keeps the port lazarette moist leading to mildew. There needs to be a drain tube from the cup holder weep hole to the bilge area in my opinion. The other two cup holders drain overboard as they are directly over the propane locker which has an overboard drain tube.

I purchased a short length of 3/8” ID vinyl tubing. I temporarily removed the cockpit port speaker. I was able to reach up thru the speaker hole and connect the tubing to the bottom side of the cup holder weep hole's barbed nipple I routed the tubing along other drainage tubing down to the center bilge area and secured the tubing with tie straps.

We are the second owners of our R27 and are wondering if this was a factory over sight on our boat or intentional design?
