We have a R27. I am considering a portable air conditioner for when we trailer and would like to stay in RV Parks. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions as to size. I want to get as small as possible and hoping a 5000 btu would work.
Thanks, Kent

We removed the back window on our boat and mounted a small window air conditioner on a platform attached to a frame surrounding the window opening. It works well cooling the boat, including the V-berth. We bought the cheapest, smallest (6k BTU) unit at a Walmart for about $230. If you send me your email address, I can send photos of the mounted unit.

I’ve used a 10,000btu window unit in our 2013 R27 when it’s on the trailer. I propped the door open, set it in the doorway propped up in the cockpit and closed off the area above it with the sunbrella cover which Velcro’s on the inside of the doorway. It cools the boat well in our Texas heat. I do this mostly when I have inside boat work to do while it’s on the trailer. We’ve not used this setup in a campground as you’re planning. The 10k btu unit just happens to be I already had not one chosen for this specific use.

Thanks Barrry but, I didn't want any thing that permanent. Nice to know 6000 btu does the job though.

I don't have one in my boat, but I met a fellow RT-27OB owner who installed a portable AC unit under the dinette seat. He ran the single exhaust airline out under the tilt up window. I think he said it was a 5K BTU unit and it worked fine.
Since I have moved from Maine to Virginia I am looking to do the same thing. The difference is that I am going to get a 2 air hose unit as they are more efficient.

The Ecoflow Wave 2 seems to have good reviews.
