Does anyone have a recommendation for a portable/rechargeable searchlight? The spotlight on the tugs are not that good.

Long Range Illuminator by Marinebeam.com

This thing is amazing, like a white laser (though Cree LEDs, not a laser) with such a narrow beam that you can point it out the side window and light up nav aids 100 yards away without any bow rail reflections. Runs a min of eight hours on three cheap D cells (they rec'd Ray O Vac). I've been a "flashlight" buff for over 60 years and this is without competition. Worth twice the $129 price.

Happy shopping!

Looks like the marine beam is unavailable.

This is what we carry. Small, lightweight, very bright.

Might I suggest this? https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-1 ... /316630705

I have one at home and it’s amazing. I’ll likely buy one for the boat when I return to it next week.

Pros: brighter and less expensive than the marine option linked to above. Works with the same rechargeable battery as other 18v Riobi hand tools. (I’ve already got a drill and charger on board and will soon be adding a power washer.)

Cons: not marine rated so you’d have to store it in a dry place, probably inside the cabin. Might not last as long as a marine rated item.

Thanks for the replies. I just ordered a Milwaukee 12-volt spotlight because i have tools on the boat that use that battery.
